From the very beginning, I loved her approach of getting to know both my style and my husband’s style so that she could come up with a design that suited both of us. But in addition to making our home look absolutely gorgeous, Shannon was incredibly thoughtful about addressing our major pain points (e.g., no coat closet, no linen closet, kitchen not functional, etc…) and coming up with creative, but practical solutions to resolve those pain points. She was honest with us about what we could accomplish within our budget and gave us realistic advice about the timeline for our project (which seems rare in the industry). Once the design process got started, Shannon was open and receptive to our feedback, repeatedly assuring us that her ultimate goal was to make sure we loved our home, but she also protected us from making bad decisions — you are, after all, hiring her because she is an experienced professional who knows what she’s doing! She was extremely organized throughout the entire project, making sure all of the materials were ordered and onsite by the time construction started so that there wouldn’t be any delays, and she was always available if we had any questions or concerns (she would literally respond to emails within minutes, even if I sent one over the weekend and told her not to worry about responding until Monday). Shannon’s demeanor throughout the project was calm and collected, even when issues arose that we weren’t anticipating. She is also extremely ethical, honest and trustworthy, and will go to the ends of the earth to make sure you’re happy. Our project wasn’t easy — our home is a commercial building that was built in 1901 and converted to residential by a DIY’er in 1997 who made A LOT of mistakes — but Shannon handled everything with grace and professionalism. And perhaps most importantly, we literally could not be happier with the end result. Our home is beautiful, functional, warm and feels like us, only better. We feel so grateful and lucky to have found Shannon and gotten to work with her on our project, and I truly can’t recommend her highly enough!”
